Durham Garden Rooms, Bespoke Designs for Home, Business and School.
Guardian and Observer readers voted Durham ahead of Bath, Newcastle and Liverpool in the prestigious UK city awards. Edinburgh was the only city this year to receive more votes than Durham. That’s an accolade we can support with our own established links with Durham. North Pennines and Durham Dales outstanding areas of natural beauty, conservation area or listed building, planning applications for garden studios can be handled in-house, where required.
Most of our garden rooms projects do not need planning permission.
Condusive with an area rich in culture and exceptional natural elegance, the beauty of our garden studios lies in their quality. Our rooms represent the top range in the marketplace, in terms of energy efficiency, thermal performance, finishing design quality and durability. We employ a highly insulated wrap-around core, energy saving lights, personal customer service and a unique, experienced, bespoke design service, free to every client.
School classrooms designed, installed and approved, fast.
School buildings take a little more time to carefully plan and match all specific safety and building regulations to the site. That said, work on site can easily be completed during holidays. Our timber based systems allow rapid build progression and our experienced in-house designer can create a complementary new suite of rooms for nursery, infant, primary and secondary pupils. School offices and meeting rooms are also a popular function. Staff enjoy the comfort of our studios, warm in winter, cool in summer, easy to heat and inexpensive to light.
Garden offices for working from home, professionally.
Whilst some creative people seek out active, busy populated areas to inspire their work, many tend to enjoy solitude for their painting and writing. From George Bernard Shaw to Philip Pullman, Robert Lyndsey to Damien Hurst, detached garden rooms have long been used as artist’s studios and writing rooms. Our artistic clients like to recycle their rainwater for brush washing in a Belfast sink. They like their glazing orientated to bathe them in northerly light. Some want no wall glazing at all, just roof windows and extra high walls for large pieces of work. Others ask us to create a secluded and warm writing room where they can work, uninterrupted, all year round.
Garden studios commonly serve as extra living space for residents, games area for the children (or grown-up games room), cinema room, dining area, entertainment and guest suite and garden gymnasium. Traditional lodge designs can be employed to complement traditional houses although we are finding that contemporary designs are easily approved by councils in this situation.
