Wedding Photographer Dylan McBurney and his wife Caroline, a portrait photographer, had a vision of how they wanted their office space to look. Finding our website then arranging a consultation with Dylan and Caroline say they were instantly impressed by the Studioni range of garden rooms, studios and offices and enjoyed viewing an art studio we have completed, close to their home.
“We previously had an office in a business park - a corporate setting. When the lease ran out we began thinking about creating our own studio at home. The office we had was too formal; we needed something aesthetically pleasing to complement the creative side of our business…
In an ideal world, we wanted a studio separate from our house so we went online to do some research. Having a one and a half year old daughter, it was important that I have an office away from the house and the distractions of tiny feet running around”, explained Dylan.
“We initially thought of buying one off the shelf but looked at the great range of design options and decided to go for a bespoke room which gave us flexibility with the design and layout. Once the design was perfected, it took as little as two weeks for the room to be completed. Our interior is two-fold: there’s a studio where Dylan does all his post production work then the other side of the room is a cosy living area with sofas, coffee table and TV. We’ve got the best of both worlds – an ideal space for consultations and plenty of room for the macs and printers. Couples can chat here and browse through a selection of our wedding albums. It’s a much more welcoming environment than the office space we previously had yet it’s separate from our home, it’s perfect and will pay for itself in rent reduction.
My initial impression of the space when I started using it was how warm it was on cool days, actually warmer than our house!”
